How to pay by Direct Debit

Applying to pay by Direct Debit

Before you start making CPF contributions with CPF EZPay, you should set up your Direct Debit Authorisation (DDA) which allows payments to be made directly from your bank account after your CPF submission.

If you have a bank account with any of these eGIRO participating banks, you should apply for DDA online. The approval takes only a few minutes. If you are using a corporate bank account, your approver must approve the eGIRO request within your bank’s internet banking portal within 48 hours before the application expires. We’ll notify you once your application is processed.

If you do not have a bank account with any of the eGIRO participating banks, you can make payment via PayNow QR.

Setting up Direct Debit

After your bank has approved your DDA application, log in to CPF EZPay and submit your CPF contribution details. Deduction will only occur after you have confirmed and submitted your CPF contribution details. The Direct Debit payment will be processed and shown as "Paid" in CPF EZPay after two working days.

Please make sure you maintain sufficient funds in your bank account before the deduction date. If you have set a Direct Debit payment limit with your bank, do ensure that the limit is sufficient to pay your CPF contributions. Some banks may charge an administrative fee for each unsuccessful payment attempt.

Unsuccessful Direct Debit payments

What happens if the Direct Debit payment is unsuccessful

The Direct Debit payment may be unsuccessful for various reasons, such as payment exceeding payment limits. We’ll inform you of the unsuccessful Direct Debit deduction, and will make the deduction seven calendar days after the date of the first unsuccessful deduction.

Please make sure you maintain sufficient funds in your bank account or change your payment limits with your bank before the second deduction attempt. Some banks may charge an administrative fee for each unsuccessful deduction.

Making changes to Direct Debit

Changing your bank account details

If you want to pay your CPF contributions from a different bank account, you will need to set up a new DDA arrangement with your new account details.

For online DDA applications, processing takes only minutes. However, please refrain from submitting a new online application to change your bank account while the deduction for your current submission is pending. This is to avoid unsuccessful deduction which may incur late payment interest. If you wish to change the bank account for Direct Debit deduction, you should only submit the new online DDA application after the deduction is successful.

We’ll notify you once your application is processed.

Terminating your Direct Debit

If you no longer wish to pay your CPF contributions by Direct Debit, please use our online service to submit your request to terminate the Direct Debit arrangement. After the CPF Board has processed the request, we’ll inform you accordingly. Please also notify your bank on the termination so they can update their records.
